- Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 23:09:48 (CET)I can remember spending many hours of my sheltered youth playing my C-64, and The Last Ninja series hooked me more than any other game (except for maybe Infiltrator, another great one). So glad to see that all you other guys loved (and still love) this game as much as I did!
There was nothing like the experience of being a teenager with a c-64 back in the 80s. Seems that while those games had limited graphics, the gameplay was always AWESOME-- case in point, TLN. Today's gamemakers would do well to dig up old c64 games and use what made them so much fun.

Hässleholm, Sweden - Friday, November 29, 2002 at 23:48:23 (CET)When I was knee high to a grass hopper, I bought a very early editon of a magazine called ZZap64. It was my first magazine and I bought it because I had a C64. I remember seeing a large map of something but didnt take much notice. I had lots of games and only being very young I didnt have any money for new games but I wasnt bothered. Plus £10 was a hell of a lot more then than it is now.
After a few years I bought a 3 box combo of games for £10.99. A lot to save up when your 8ish. One of the 3 games was Last Ninja 2. I fell in love with it when I saw how good the load up screen was. After a few weeks and only being 8 I finished it without any help at all. I later realised that the ZZap64 Map was a walk through of the game. ;)
Anyway, the feeling when I got past a puzzle or started a new level was somthing out of this world and I have never felt that way about anything again. When I finished the game, I was excited, happy and sad that its over all together.
After finishing LN2 I thought there must be a 1. I found it and played it then 3 came out and I did the same.
No other game since has had the same effect on me. Action, puzzles and control all needed to master the game a set of qualities that are lost in new games.
Last Ninja series is the best series of games EVER. I hope Last Ninja 4 doesnt forget its heratage.

To all of you C64/Amiga veterans.
Finally our most beloved game is back. I think back to the old days when i got last ninja 2. It took forever to load, but it was worth it. The music and everything.
They dont make games like that anymore do they..
Maybe its in 3d and maybe its more than 4 channel music in the new one, but they will never come even close the original. Don't get me wrong i can't wait to play it, but it will never be the same as the old ones.
In the older days they made games with more "spirit".
Well anyway. Cheers to all of you LN fans..

California, Orlando usa - Monday, August 26, 2002 at 23:05:43 (CEST)Hi Folks,
I was also one who ate, slept and dreampt last ninja for so long. I got a c64 because of last ninja. I remember the agonising wait from seeing last ninja in a magazine in '87, to when I actually acquired a c64 in late '88 (I had to win a competition to get one :). During this wait, I thought the world had passed me by and it felt a little depressing. Imagine my euphoria when I saw a full page last ninja 2 ad in ZZap a month after getting my c64! That was a good day! I had a similar feeling today with this. Except that in years, the wait has been increased by a factor of TEN!. The slow agonising demise of the c64 was hard to take. It meant that a scene ended - mainly cos the c64 magazines ended and the companies ended. Thankfully we now have the internet - where scenes will last as long as the people do! (c64 live forever!) PS Anyone know where I can hero worship Steve and John Rowlands? (not of last ninja fame, but I came to know them from their Commodore Format articles, and their games)

In these times I'm writing the next version of the Ninja engine. This is 85% completed. Of Course, a NEW GAME will be added to this Engine, it will be the "The Secret of The Lake". It's got a better, and like's bug free engine.
And a most important thing: A new and workable LAST NINJA EDITOR will be added, with a User's manual and lots of Tutorial files. With this Editor, You CAN MAKE YOUR GAME! The Editor is 89% and the Manual is 0% completed.
So, I'm working again.....

Trondhem, Norway - Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 01:39:34 (CEST)Great site!
I thought that LN series had been forgotten and I was the only person in the world who had remembered about this wonderful game. I`m glad I was wrong and that gamers from all over the world still remember about the Ninja.
This site also helped me finish Last Ninja 3.
Here`s the story:
When I had C64 I finished LN1 and LN2 without a walkthrought. Discovering how to complete each stage of LN1 and LN2 took me much time, but I was happy that I explored the game by myself. Later I got LN3 and started to play it. Finished stage 1, 2, and couldn`t pass the stange number 3 (what to do with this dam*** plug). I tried many times and finally gave up. Years passed I got a PC, but I remembered about LN series. One day when I was bored I started to search on the Internet emulators of C64 and games for it. First games downloaded were of course The Last Ninja 1, 2, and 3. Downloading LN3 I remembered that I hadn`t finished it. I typed in google: The Last Ninja, found this site and a solution for my problem.
So as a conclusion: this site helped me to complete LN3 after years :)
Nowdays I play LN series at least once a week and it`s a great fun just like in good old days.
I hope that my english isn`t hard to understand :)
Greetz to all LN fans
